The second wave of corona in the country is almost coming to an end, but now a new threat has come to the fore. While the possibility of a third wave of corona is already being expressed, in the meantime the delta plus variant of the virus is taking a dangerous form. In the first case of Delta positive in Rajasthan, a 65-year-old woman, who was cured of COVID-19 in May and had received both the doses, tested positive with this variant. However, government officials confirmed the woman is healthy. With this, Rajasthan became the 12th state in the country to register the new virus strain.

According to Parmendra Sirohi, superintendent of PBM Hospital, Bikaner, the patient’s sample was sent to the NIV on May 31 and after 25 days the report was received by the state government, which was sent to the Bikaner district collector for further action. Bikaner CMHO OP Chahar said that special instructions have been issued for tracing the woman’s residence and its surroundings. All those who have tested positive in the area in the last one month will be re-tested. Chahar said that this woman has already recovered from Kovid infection.

The Rajasthan government is taking this matter seriously. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said there would be no laxity in services and the new guidelines would ensure that the Delta Plus variant does not spread across the state. Let us tell you that the Delta Plus variant has also been detected in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir. Maximum 21 cases have been reported in Maharashtra. Of these, an elderly woman has also died in Maharashtra.
