With the help of the villagers, the people were evacuated to the District Memorial Hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead. Chief Medical Superintendent Arun Srivastava said that all the six people were brought to the hospital in a dead state. Utkarsh (12), his father Krishna Kumar Singh (38), mother Snehlata (35), family members Soumya (18) Lily (14) and driver Shatrohan Kumar (30) died in the incident, they said. Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Mishra said that the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. All the people were residents of Manhana village in Gonda district. Eyewitness Abdul Haqib, passing by the spot, said that the Swift DZire car was going from Balrampur to Tulsipur while two people on a motor cycle were coming from the other direction when the car and the bike collided. He told that when he reached the spot, the bike had fallen on the road and the car overturned in a waterlogged pothole on the side of the road in which people were trapped.

Abdul Haqib says that when everyone was taken out of the car, a girl was breathing, but before reaching the hospital, the girl also died. Villagers tell that when the car overturned, after that we somehow broke the glass and pulled out the people. Police said that a motorcyclist was also injured in the accident, who has been referred to a hospital in Gonda.
