Farmers organizations have been engaged in agitation for the last seven months against the agricultural laws brought by the central government. On the completion of seven months of the demonstrations, the farmers tried to submit memorandums to the governors by gheraoing the Raj Bhavans in different states on 26th June. In view of the sensitive situation in Delhi, the security of Lt Governor Anil Baijal’s house was beefed up. Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said that the government should not consider him weak. Significantly, thousands of farmers are protesting against the three agriculture laws brought by the central government. There has been a gathering of farmers on the Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur borders of Delhi since last year. At the same time, earlier today there was news that Rakesh Tikait had been arrested. After which Delhi Police tweeted saying that it is fake news!
