The important meeting on Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi ended. In this, 14 leaders of 8 political parties of Jammu and Kashmir participated. The meeting lasted for about three and a half hours at the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi. After the meeting, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that today’s meeting with the political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir is an important step in the ongoing efforts towards a developed and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi said that our priority is to strengthen democracy at the grassroots level in Jammu and Kashmir. Delimitation should be done at a fast pace so that elections can be held and J&K gets an elected government which will give strength to the development path of J&K. In another tweet, the PM said that the greatest strength of our democracy is the ability to sit at a table and exchange ideas. I told the leaders of J&K that the people, especially the youth, have to give political leadership to J&K and ensure that their aspirations are fulfilled.

Home Minister Amit Shah tweeting after the meeting Committed to ensure all round development of Jammu and Kashmir. The future of Jammu and Kashmir was discussed in the meeting. The Home Minister said that important points like delimitation of Union Territories and peaceful elections, restoration of statehood were discussed. He said that today’s meeting on Jammu and Kashmir was held in a very cordial atmosphere. Everyone expressed their commitment to democracy and the Constitution. Emphasis was laid on strengthening the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.
We are committed to ensure all round development of J&K.
The future of Jammu and Kashmir was discussed and the delimitation exercise and peaceful elections are important milestones in restoring statehood as promised in parliament.
