Chandigarh. Jammu Airport A vigil is being maintained in Punjab’s border district of Pathankot on Sunday after two explosive-laden drones went off at the highly-secured Air Force station of the IAF. The officials told about this. He informed that strict vigil is being done around important installations in Pathankot. Five years ago there was a terrorist attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base. Police said patrolling has been increased in Pathankot and adjoining areas and additional forces have been deployed.

Asked whether additional security arrangements have been made after the Jammu incident, Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Lamba told PTI over phone, “We are monitoring the situation. Whenever any such incident happens, the highest alert is put in the surrounding areas.” He said, “We are doing a thorough check on the movement from the inter-state border. We have deployed additional forces there as well.” He said that Punjab Police SWAT teams and special commandos have been deployed at important places. Lamba said that checking of vehicles going towards Jammu and entering Pathankot from Jammu and Kashmir side has been intensified.
