A health official said on Friday that no case of death due to infection was reported in the last 24 hours and the death toll stood at 88. At the same time, out of the new cases, the maximum number of 130 cases were reported in Aizawl, 25 in Kolasib and 23 in Longtalai. In the last 24 hours, 3,413 samples were tested for Kovid-19 in the state and the rate of infection of samples was recorded at 6.56 percent.

He said that out of 224 people found infected, 12 had recently traveled and another 212 people were found infected in order to identify the people who came in contact with the infected. Of these, only 126 people showed signs of infection. At present 4,455 people are undergoing treatment for corona virus infection in Mizoram and 14,316 people have become infection free.

So far more than 4.68 lakh samples have been tested in the state. The recovery rate of patients is 75.91 percent and the death rate from Kovid-19 is 0.46 percent. Meanwhile, State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljavmi informed that 4,59,681 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state, out of which 53,960 people have been given both the doses.
